With more and more digital files coming into quick response, small commercial and in-plant print shops, managers are establishing digital workflows while still receiving a fair amount of hard copy and camera-ready materials for printing. Now, with one easy-to-use system, press-ready plates can be produced from both digital files and hard copy originals in a desktop environment.
The Kimosetter 410 Platemaking System provides a low-cost, flexible solution to ‘multi-media’ originals.
This system stands alone or can be added to a network. A queue lets you re-prioritize jobs and retain them for later re-imaging. And, as your production requirements – and profits – grow, this system upgrades easily to a Digital PlateMaster (DPM).
The Kimosetter 410 delivers excellent image quality resulting in smooth, crisp text, sharp line work, high density solids and clean halftones up to 100 lpi.
Its design is comparable in size and style to a mid-size inkjet printer and accommodates popular plate sizes up to 410 x 510mm lets you print full-bleed tabloid (A3) with crop and register marks
Toner Free - The platesetter is toner-free, using ink ribbon cassettes and thermal transfer technology to image onto polyester plates. That means no mess, no fingerprints and no backgrounding or toner spatter that could pick up ink on-press. It’s a clean process with clear results.
Kimosetter 410 Plates - Rated for up to 5,000 impressions, 5 mil polyester base Kimosetter Polyester Plates provide excellent dimensional stability and ensures accurate image size and good register for spot color work. The matte, hydrophilic coating has better water-holding capacity and is scratch and fingerprint resistant.
No Etch Needed - Kimosetter 410 plates require no plate etch or post-imaging fusing. The plate is delivered press-ready straight from the platesetter. This environmentally friendly approach enables operators to work in closed studio conditions.
When ready to go on press, simplywipe the plate surface with fountain solution and go. If printing is interrupted, re-wet with fountain solution or clean water before restarting. Kimosetter 410 plates recover very quickly.
Printing Inks - Kimosetter 410 plates are compatible with most inks – rubber base, soy base, oil base and UV.
